Hi !
The ExtraInfo fields are only available if the poll actually polls the variables. Per default this is imho not the case.
You have two options.
a) create a lookup file with the mapping of node and ifindex to ifdescr
b) create a custom poll which requests the ifDescr field also. Then you can use the ExtraInfo trick to change the Summary.
The default Summary is set in the poll definition
Instead of Node and ifindex you can also use the PolledEntityId (or similar, i use copy and paste too often ;-) ) Field, which is the entityId in ncim for the polled interface.

Subject: [INUG-Users] ITNM 3.7 FP7 - Poller event enrichment - ifDescr
Hello all,
I have sort of run in to a wall with this one. I have read several INUG
posts, but still need to be pointed in the right direction.
I am trying to enrich the ITNM Monitor Probe events with the actual
ifDescr in the summary field versus the ifIndex.
I have done quite a few tweaks to the nco_p_ncpmonitor rules and map
files to no avail. I think the first step may be to find where that
summary field is actually being populated for the Monitor prove events,
but I can not find any clue on where to look, several in-depth searches
return no results when searching for the string in the Summary field.
The ExtraInfo field in the Monitor probe does not seem to be populating
the ifDescr variable, just the ifIndex. I have tried mapping the ifDescr
to the ExtraInfo field, but get errors in the log stating that it's an
invalid field.
Any assistance would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike
