[INUG-Users] 3.6.1 Bi-Gateway Issue

Make sure all of the fields exist, and are compatible on both Object
Servers. We had issues with the ODBC Gateway where it would just stop
with no info. We had a varchar field that was trying to feed into a
smaller varchar field on the destination, and the Gateway would work
most of the time, but, die whenever the number of characters exceeded
the size of the destination.
We have also had issues with a quoted string losing a close quote when
it got truncated in it's journey through the Object Server, and the
gateway dies.
Try grabbing the SQl commands from the Store and forward file on the
gateway, and applying it manually to the destination. Probably the first
line will fail, and give you a more useful answer.
HTH,
Bill

Subject: Re: [INUG-Users] 3.6.1 Bi-Gateway Issue
the 7x is acting as a display (no events created on it). the 3x is
forwarding events to the 7x. a few minutes after killing the gateway;
i will see events stop coming into the 7x (via the event list; sorted
by LastOccurrence).
once i kill the gateway, its starts populating into the 7x again. the
gateway is installed on the 3x machine. both OS profiles report that
the IDUC avg time is way under my granularity period.
this *just* started happening this weekend with no OS or gateway
config changes; the gw and 7x OS were running fine, for the most part,
since we rolled them out.
perhaps the problem is my OS, perhaps it is my gateway; i have bounced
both and the issue continues to occur.
a bit stumped on this one. :-/ maybe some ideas will make me think of
something.
thx!
