[INUG-Users] Changing the name of the Device in precision

Hi,
Use the sysnaming option in the Advanced tab. Name will be derived from a
populated sysName rather than the loopback interfaces. However, be
careful. SysName is not necessarily unique. The sysname naming stitchers
check for duplicates - so you may end up with a mix of naming methods if
your sysnames are not administered properly.
The default is to use the loopback interfaces to ensure consistent naming
between discoveries, controlled by the NamingFromLoopback stitcher (which
uses information from the LoopbackDetails agent).
Also remember that the labels displayed can be configured in Topoviz, so
you don't necessarily have to change any discovery config. Take a look at
the topoviz.properties config file for more info.
Cheers
Spike

Subject: [INUG-Users] Changing the name of the Device in precision
topologyview
Hi All,
The name of the device/router/switch displayed under the icon is derived
from m_BaseName in precision topology view. I need to modify the
information so that the name will be derived from m_SysName instead of
m_BaseName. I would like to know which file/code should I modify for
this to happen?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pushpa
