[INUG-Users] adding severity + color, W32 client and Webtop issue

The underlying design of the ObjectServer and desktops does not easily
support Severity values outside the ISO standard 0-5 values. Color is
intended for use to modify the colours of the existing Severity values.

You do not say what you mean by "an event that does not clear". Consider
using Severity 0 for these events so that they are Green, and a
non-standard Type value to identify them. These events would not be
touched by GenericClear which looks specifically for Type 1/2
combinations, and you could make a simple modification to the DeleteClears
automation to ignore or treat differently the chosen event type. You may
need to use something like the Expire trigger to remove these events from
the system after a period of time.

[INUG-Users] adding severity + color, W32 client and Webtop issue

Hello all,

I have to add a 'green' event which does not clear, so I'm adding a new
Severity, and making it green.

However, if I add the Conversion, then the Color, and do a Refresh->All
in the Win32 client, it goes insane, most of the views I have go blank.
If I add just the conversion for Severity, the client works ok, but I
have this weird bluish color for the new Severity events. Also, Webtop
acts funny - a "lavalamp" monitor icon ends up with a white severity
border.

Omnibus 3.6 btw.

Is there a trick to making new Severities play nice in the client(s) ?
