Pushpa,
I think this is an option you can pick on the "advanced" tab in the
configuration GUI. I don't know what it does, but I *think* I remember
an option to name nodes from sysname instead of DNS name.
As for the code, there is a stitcher in
$NCHOME/precision/disco/stitchers that controls this behavior
(LoopbackDetails?). What you might do is grep the files in this
directory for EntityName or whatever -- this should show you pretty
quick which stitchers are touching the EntityName value. Or you can be
more focused and grep for m_BaseName. One of the many "lazy methods" I
derived from watching Wally at non-work in Dilbert over the years...

Subject: [INUG-Users] Changing the name of the Device in precision
topologyview
Hi All,
The name of the device/router/switch displayed under the icon is derived
from m_BaseName in precision topology view. I need to modify the
information so that the name will be derived from m_SysName instead of
m_BaseName. I would like to know which file/code should I modify for
this to happen?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pushpa
