Anthony,
Thanks for the help. nco_pad can execute with no issues. It's now
looking like the nco script in /etc/init.d that won't run correctly. This
is the script that starts up PA, and then PA should start up the
syslog file reading daemon. Can I send it to you directly?

I have not had any issues installing netcool as non-root. both 7.1 and
7.2. However, you can try this:
$ ksh -x nco_pad
it will print out exactly what nco_pad shell script is doing. that
should push you in the right direction. what was the exact error
message?
